Dr. Lazaro A. Mederos, Board President

Dr. Lazaro A. Mederos is a global strategy leader and outsourcing executive with more than 20 years of international experience helping businesses thrive. He managed country-wide client engagements with IBM Strategic Outsourcing, and ultimately led an IBM organization comprised of more than 700 resources worldwide.

Dr. Mederos is the President of the Board of Directors at the Backsourcing Advisory, a think tank community of global outsourcing leaders. He is also deeply engaged in community outreach to support the development of future business leaders. In recognition of his contributions, he was awarded the United States President’s Volunteer Service Award, as well as the 2018 South Florida Community Leadership Award.

Dr. Mederos attained a BBA from Florida International University, USA; MBA from Nova Southeastern University, USA; and a Doctorate of Business Administration from Grenoble École de Management, France.

Karl Fitzgerald, Board Director

Karl Fitzgerald is one of South Florida’s most creative Strategists and Brand Specialists. He has worked for some of the area’s most recognizable brands, including major sports franchises, universities, municipalities and cultural organizations. His creative inspiration comes from a wide variety of sources both local and worldwide, present and historical – literature, the arts, travel, people, and Nature. He earned his BA in English Literature and Creative Writing with a Minor in Fine Arts from the University of Virginia. He currently resides in Miami.

Mann Vergan, Board Director

Mann Vergan is an attorney qualified in New York, Massachusetts and England & Wales. He has extensive experience as a corporate lawyer and has worked for such firms as CMS Cameron McKenna, Clifford Chance, Mourant Ozannes and Harneys.

More recently he was a partner at Vistra, the global corporate services provider, where he advised funds, trusts, investment managers, multinationals, retailers, corporate and private clients.

He is also a consultant for End Single Use Plastics Now, a non-profit, grassroots advocacy organization on ending plastic pollution with an emphasis on Africa.

Dr. Vassili Joannidès de Lautour, Board Director

Dr. Vassili Joannidès de Lautour is a professor of management control at Grenoble École de Management (France), Queensland University of Technology (Australia) and the University of Parma (Italy). He has also had a series of visiting appointments, including Auckland University of Technology, the University of Glasgow or Columbia University.

Vassili is the editor of the Palgrave Studies of Accounting & Finance Practices at Palgrave Macmillan. He has published a series of books on the continuity between strategy, operations and controls. Based on his research, he has been counseling various businesses, nonprofits and governmental agencies in the world.
